No. All tiles are handmade and produced especially for each order. Once the order is confirmed and production has started, it can no longer be changed, returned or exchanged. If the order is cancelled during production, the deposit will not be refunded.

Our tiles are sold by square metre. The number of pieces per square metre depends on the model and is listed in each model on the website.

Yes. Custom colours can be developed at a cost for orders over 30 sqm. Please contact your commercial representative for more information about timing, cost and feasibility.

For interior dry areas there is no need to grout the tiles. However, grout is generally recommended in wet areas, outdoor areas and surfaces that require protection. The final grout choice and joint size should always be confirmed with your installer.

No. Because our tiles are handmade, slight variations in size, shape and thickness are expected. This is part of their handmade character and should be considered during installation.

If your tiles arrive damaged and transport was arranged by Theia Tiles, the shipment is insured. To activate the insurance, the damage must be photographed and noted on the delivery documentation with the driver. Please contact our team within 48 hours of delivery. Claims reported after this period may not be accepted.

Yes. Our tiles can be cut by a professional installer using appropriate ceramic cutting tools, preferably a wet saw with a diamond blade for cleaner cuts.

Some models can be installed on curved surfaces, depending on the tile shape, size and radius of the surface. Please confirm with your commercial representative before ordering.

Samples can be ordered directly on each product page by selecting the model and colour.
You can also request samples by email at info@theiatiles.com. Note that we may not always have the exact model and colour sample in stock. In that case, we can send the requested model together with a separate small colour sample.

We require a 50% deposit to start production. The remaining 50% must be paid once the order is produced and before shipping or pickup. If shipping is arranged through us, the shipping cost must also be paid before dispatch. All orders are made especially for each client, so we do not accept returns or exchanges.

Clients are responsible for calculating the correct order quantity, based on accurate measurements and their preferred overage. We recommend ordering at least 10% extra for breakage. For a more uniform final look, we recommend 20% extra, allowing your installer to select and set aside tiles that may fall outside the desired aesthetic range.
Please always confirm measurements and overage with your tile installer before ordering.

Production lead times are usually around 12 weeks for most products.
Our factory closes during Christmas and August, which may affect timings.
If you have a specific deadline, please inform your commercial contact before ordering. Shorter lead times may be possible if production allows.

Most of our tiles can be suitable for outdoor use, depending on the finish.
Each product page indicates whether that model and finish is suitable for outdoor application. If the tile you like is not listed as suitable for outdoors, please contact your commercial representative. In some cases, we can adapt the tile with a different paste or finish for outdoor use.

Yes. Colour and finish variation is part of the nature of handmade tiles. Our tiles are handmade, and many pigments are developed in-house. This means each tile is unique, and the final result may vary slightly from the sample received. Some colours have more variation than others. This information is indicated on each product page. Variation is not considered a defect, but a natural characteristic of handmade ceramic tiles.

Most of our tiles are made in faience, a traditional ceramic material used in Portugal.
We also have specific collections in terracotta, a red earthenware paste. For some projects, selected tiles can also be produced in gres upon request, depending on the model, finish and intended use.

All our tiles are made in Portugal. They are handmade using traditional ceramic processes, including pressing, glazing and firing. Depending on the model and finish, each tile is fired two or three times.

We ship worldwide through different transport companies. Shipping is quoted separately and added to the final pro forma. Delivery times depend on the destination, as all shipments leave from Portugal. Customers must inspect the order upon delivery. Any damage must be photographed and noted with the driver on the delivery documentation, then reported to our team within 48 hours. Missed deliveries or refusals may result in storage and re-delivery fees charged by the transport company.
